Curtis Mayfield New World Order Zip Line
New World Order is a touching, moving comeback from Curtis Mayfield. As the first new music Mayfield recorded since he was paralyzed in 1990, the album engenders a lot of goodwill -- it's undeniably affecting to hear him sing again, especially with the knowledge that his performances had to be recorded line by line, due to his paralysis. The joy of hearing him sing makes the inconsistency of the album forgivable, especially since he is in good voice. Narada Michael Walden, Daryl Simmons, and Organized Noize all contributed productions that are sensitive but strong, which gives the album added weight.
The songs are hit-and-miss, but the main strength of the record is that it illustrates that Mayfield can make music that is still vital. Movie the great wall 2017. ~ Leo Stanley.
Curtis Mayfield suffered tragedy in his life, but what will be remembered is his indomitable spirit and optimism, both of which are displayed in this great release. As has been well chronicled, Mayfield suffered a paralyzing injury well before 'New World Order' was released. But this session is devoid of any reference to that.
The original Super Fly is credited as being one of the original Blaxploitation movies along with Sweet Sweetback's Baadassssss Song and Shaft. All of which are considered essential movies in the genre. This remake hits all the right notes and it updates it for today's audiences but it doesn't really bring anything new or noteworthy to the mix. It's stylish and honestly feels more like an extended music video in some parts. Now part of that could very well be because of the director and his background.
But that's good for music videos and not for a feature length movie. Especially edna. She specializes in desgining super suits for serious matters yet she is a babysitter. Excellent animation and great editing for five stars. See more: > >.
