Four computer science students from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) are designing an app for the higher education department. “Karnataka will be the first state to have this service in India. This is absolutely free of charge,” Higher Education Minister G T Deve Gowda told this newspaper. The issues or concerns regarding the functioning of the department or institutions can be freely raised on the platform, which will also reach the minister in no time.
“Suggestions will be welcome and this will be upgraded at different intervals of the academic year,” a senior Higher Education official said. This is the brainchild of four Computer Science students. Once the app is launched, the students will get a reward from the department for their contribution. This also helps in branding higher education in Karnataka, which is the hub for education in the country,” he added.
On behalf of the higher education department and its affiliated universities, the app users will receive nearly 200 short news item per day.
