Type 3 Software Crack Forum
Criticism of type III is over exaggerated. The type IV forend attachment update was to make it easier to tighten up the gun, and preventing the forearm wood from occasional cracking due to improper screw tightening. Not all type III forearm wood will crack.

Some did, most won't. Even it cracks, it'll not affect the gun's function. And fix that hairline crack is approx. I had many type III MX8 in the past that never cracked the FE wood, and one cracked all the way to the end after 20 years of shooting it like that. Here's a picture of said cracked type III forearm wood. The original owner didn't fix it, he shot it over 10 years like that, and I loan it to the boy scout shooting program for 6 years then I had it rebuild (didn't fix the wood) and shot it myself for another 5 or 6 years. What will happen to it?
I doubt it will get any worse after 20 years of shooting with the crack like that. BTW, I just got another type III MX8 back from the kid's shooting program after 5 or 6 years, this forearm didn't crack, but the butt stock cracked in so many places, I'll shoot it as is for as long as I can, I'll report back what happen to it just to drive those people with OCD about hairline crack in Perazzi stock crazy. Mind you this stock was cracked when I loan it to the shooting program 6 years ago, I didn't sponsor the ammo, so I don't know exactly how many rounds went through it, but it's a lot. Now I've been shooting it for a little while with a newly rebuild barrel shoulder lugs (not new bolt), I just want to see how it'll hold up, so far, its fine.
Yoseppy, Steve W is right about the Type3 guns, they are very solid, some people prefer them. The difference in the Type3 and Type4 is the forend. There are a couple of small improvements in the guns not tied to the forend change, those are the new style bottom barrel firing pin (and hammer design) and the location of the top lever release mechanism.
Parts for your Type3 gun are readily available, I sell a lot of them, and work on the Type3 guns frequently. Feel free to call and we can discuss any questions you have.
WARNING: FreeCAD has moved! FreeCAD code and release files are now hosted on github at Only older files and code are available here. FreeCAD is a general purpose feature-based, parametric 3D modeler for CAD, MCAD, CAx, CAE and PLM, aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits a wider range of uses in engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties. It is 100% Open Source and extremely modular, allowing for very advanced extension and customization. FreeCAD is based on OpenCasCade, a powerful geometry kernel, features an Open Inventor-compliant 3D scene representation model provided by the Coin 3D library, and a broad Python API. The interface is built with Qt.
FreeCAD runs exactly the same way on Windows, Mac OSX and Linux platforms. Features • Rock-solid OpenCasCade-based geometry kernel, allowing complex 3D operations on complex shape types, and supports natively concepts like brep, nurbs, booleans operations or fillets • Full parametric model allowing any type of parameter-driven custom objects, that can even be fully programmed in python • Complete access from python built-in interpreter, macros or external scripts to almost any part of FreeCAD, being geometry creation and transformation, the 2D or 3D representation of that geometry (scenegraph) or even the FreeCAD interface.
